One Month????

It is GROSSLY unfair how the last month of pregnancy drags and is quite possibly the longest 30 days of one's life. And then as soon as the baby is here, the exact same amount of time flies by in the blink of an eye. I was stunned when I looked at the calendar and realized Elizabeth is one month old. I got weepy and sad as I saw she isn't fitting into her newborn sized clothes anymore. She is putting on baby chub like she's preparing for a long winter of hibernating. Her favorite thing to do is EAT! Her cheeks change size daily and are now drooping down to her shoulders. But chubby babies are straight from heaven and I love every roll and extra chin. She's certainly very kissable.
She is a pretty good night time sleeper. Usually up twice to eat, then goes right back to sleep. Last night however, I put her to bed around 10:30 and she didn't wake up until 5:00. I call that sleeping through the night. At least sleeping through ONE night so far.
Her big brothers rush home from school so they can hold her and kiss her. The novelty of a new sister has not worn off and they adore her.

My brother and his wife had their baby nine days before us. Here's grandpa with 2 sweethearts.

Don't be fooled. She hates the bottle and can't figure it out. She looks like she was drinking in this picture, but she wasn't sucking. That was in between screams. We'll keep practicing.

Choices

Is it mean to blog about something that your kid did that he's totally embarrassed about and post pictures, too? Oh well, I will anyway...
Andrew took a shower in my bathroom tonight. He usually does in his own "kid" bathroom, but the tub was already being used to bathe younger children and he didn't want to wait for his shower til they were done, so he asked if he could use my bathroom. I said yes, but clean it up and don't leave wet towels on the floor. So he showered. I briefly saw him streak down the stairs to his bedroom to get dressed. He came back upstairs crying with 2 hands covering his head. He said "you know that purple shaver thing in your shower?" (my razor). I said yes...He took his hands away from the sides of his head to reveal matching bald spots on either side of his head just above his ears...

What the kid was thinking, I'm sure I'll never know. I tried not to laugh, but he saw through me and cried even more. Greg told him he was going to have to cut his hair and try to fix it. Greg wanted to buzz him bald all over for the sake of uniformity, but I put my foot down. There's no need to make him even more embarrassed than he already is. He was sobbing about going to school tomorrow. And maybe it's totally mean of me, but I told him he's going, so too bad. So we had a talk about choices. He made a silly choice tonight and he's going to have to live with it until his hair grows back in. These are the post hair cut pics.
