Choices

Is it mean to blog about something that your kid did that he's totally embarrassed about and post pictures, too? Oh well, I will anyway...
Andrew took a shower in my bathroom tonight. He usually does in his own "kid" bathroom, but the tub was already being used to bathe younger children and he didn't want to wait for his shower til they were done, so he asked if he could use my bathroom. I said yes, but clean it up and don't leave wet towels on the floor. So he showered. I briefly saw him streak down the stairs to his bedroom to get dressed. He came back upstairs crying with 2 hands covering his head. He said "you know that purple shaver thing in your shower?" (my razor). I said yes...He took his hands away from the sides of his head to reveal matching bald spots on either side of his head just above his ears...

What the kid was thinking, I'm sure I'll never know. I tried not to laugh, but he saw through me and cried even more. Greg told him he was going to have to cut his hair and try to fix it. Greg wanted to buzz him bald all over for the sake of uniformity, but I put my foot down. There's no need to make him even more embarrassed than he already is. He was sobbing about going to school tomorrow. And maybe it's totally mean of me, but I told him he's going, so too bad. So we had a talk about choices. He made a silly choice tonight and he's going to have to live with it until his hair grows back in. These are the post hair cut pics.

the one side just looks like his hairdresser nicked him really bad.
Poor kid - I had a similar thing 1st time I shaved my legs (pushed a little too hard & had a bandage on my leg for the first 2 wks of school).

Probably a good lesson for him - and he'll definitely want to look back on this when he's older (and then he'll see the humor in it).

Looove it! That is so funny. I didn't think it was so bad for boys to cut their hair. Shaving is a different thing, eh?
